IPOH, April 25 (Bernama) -- Perak Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abdul Kadir regards state opposition leader Datuk Seri Mohammad Nizar Jamaluddin's accusation that the prime minister had met with armed forces chiefs and senior officials over the coming general election as extreme and seditious.
Zambry said in his ceramah at Taman Desa Pakatan, Pengkalan last Monday, Mohammad Nizar alleged that during the meeting, Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak had asked the armed forces top guns to do "something" pertaining to the coming general election until a heated argument ensued between Najib and the armed forces chiefs.
"When he bad-mouths and hurls accusations, he (Mohammad Nizar) doesn't care if his words are seditious and about the implications. He was giving a scary picture (during the ceramah). This is extreme and over the limit," he said after chairing the weekly state executive council meeting, here, Wednesday.
Zambry was earlier asked by reporters to comment on Mohammad Nizar's allegation that Najib had held a meeting with the armed forces chiefs and senior officials where he asked them "to do something if BN loses in the coming general election".
In his ceramah, Mohammad Nizar claimed that the armed forces top guns and senior officials disagreed and would still be with the people if BN loses in the general election.
Zambry is asking the Home Ministry and other relevant authorities to investigate the matter as Mohammad Nizar had made very serious allegations against the prime minister.
"He (Mohammad Nizar) must have felt he had not done wrong by making such allegations as long as he could deceive the people and win political support.
"I don't understand his character; he's willing to do anything...it is serious when you accuse BN of trying to stage a coup d'etat if it loses in the general election," he said.
